All-Bob Stoops Team: Comparing ‘Stormin in Norman’ with how the real Sooner fans voted

Earlier this week, we posted an article on the All-Bob Stoops Team, listing the players we consider to be the best at their individual positions to have played for Bob Stoops during his 18 seasons as head coach of the Sooners.
Also this week, the University of Oklahoma athletic department asked Sooner fans, on its website SoonerSports.com, to field a team of 22 players from the Stoops era (11 on offense, 11 on defense, plus a punter, kicker and kick-returner).
The OU athletic department left it up to the fans whether they wanted to vote for the best player or their favorite player at each position.
Over a period of two days, more than 8,000 votes were cast by fans of Oklahoma football.
We thought it would be interesting to compare and contrast StorminNorman’s All-Bob Stoops Team with the All-Stoops Team as voted by the fans themselves.
Interestingly, there was common agreement at most positions. There were a few differences, however, notably at quarterback and wide receiver. There is also a difference of opinion in a couple of offensive line positions, on the defensive line, at safety and the placekicker.
The players highlighted in bold are common to both versions of the All-Stoops Team. Where this is a difference of opinion, the player is not highlighted.
