On Thanksgiving this year, we all have much to be thankful for, not just this week, but all throughout the year. That goes for Sooner sports, as well.

It has been a very special year for Oklahoma athletic teams. Both the football and men’s basketball teams were among the last four standing earlier in the year, and the 2016 edition of Sooner football is making a late-season push for another Big 12 championship and an elite bowl destination.

In sports other than football and basketball, the women’s softball team reigned supreme with a third College World Series crown, and the Sooners owned gymnastics with national championships for both the men and women.

Plenty for Sooner fans to celebrate and be thankful for in 2016, and we captured it for you.
