The biggest kids event of the calendar has been set for August 2. The University of Oklahoma announced Meet the Sooners Day, held annually at Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium, will take the first Saturday of August for all young Sooner fans to meet their favorite players.
Oklahoma’s annual event gives the chance for all children under the age of 14 to bring one item to be signed by as many players as they can get to. Each child must be accompanied by an adult, however, no adults will be permitted to submit an item to gain autographs.
This is a great event every year that allows young Sooner fans to grow a strong bond with the football team and have an item to hold on to when they grow up and continue rooting on the Sooners.
Sooner Kids Club members will get preference as usual. To learn more on how to sign up to be a Sooner Kids Club member, click here.
The public will be allowed to line up outside Gate 5 at 7 am. The event will be open to the general public from 10:30 am to noon.
As Oklahoma can be very hot, make sure to bring water. No other outside beverages or food will be permitted, but water will be allowed due to no concession stands being closed.
Public restrooms will be available for the event inside the stadium. Also, campus parking will be free, according to SoonerSports.com
