Kicker Austin Seibert commits to Oklahoma Sooners

Oklahoma’s special teams has taken some bad turns, but Jay Bouleware got the unit right back on track with an excellent 2013 season.

The Sooners have one of the top kicker/punter duos in the country returning to Norman this season. However, seniors K Michael Hunnicutt and P Jed Barnett will need replacements following 2014.

Bouleware, as good as he’s been, continues to work his magic and was able to land the nation’s top kicker in the 2015 class.

Austin Seibert, the country’s top kicker, tweeted the good news late Friday night.

The Missouri Tigers, Colorado Buffaloes, Kentucky Wildcats, Miami Hurricanes, and Northwestern Wildcats offered Seibert all before Oklahoma did on April 22. However, after taking an unofficial visit to OU May 9, Seibert was sold on the Sooners.

Out of Belleville, Illinois, Seibert is about a 20 minute drive from St. Louis, Missouri. And with a handful of options, Seibert will look to take cross a few state lines for his college career.

As highlighted in the video above, Seibert has solid form for a commit his age. At 5’10”, 195 pounds, Seibert can hopefully polish his game more this upcoming year and be ready to compete for a starting job his first year on campus.
