5. Corey Nelson’s South Bend Pick Six

On one of the most beautiful settings in college football, Corey Nelson was truly in the “right place” at the “right time.” Tommy Rees backed up and a few seconds later, Nelson had the ball in his hands and was walking in to the Fighting Irish end zone. This is a truly memorable one for Mr. Nelson who did not get to finish his senior season due to an injury.

4. Bester gets things going

Set up by an interception from Gabe Lynn, this was the touchdown that started everything. Oklahoma’s path to beating Alabama began with this athletic play from Bester to get down field and find the pylon for six. Who knows where OU would have been without Bester’s playmaking ability.

3. Bedlam Game-Winner to Saudners

After saving the day last year, Blake Bell once again delivered on the Bedlam stage. The Belldozer did not run it in to the endzone for the touchdown. No, a perfect fade route to Jalen Saunders to win the game for the Sooners was the perfect recipe for an upset. You can’t ask for better execution on this play. What a way to end one of the craziest Bedlam games, though, crazy and this rivalry seem to go hand in hand.

2. Sugar Bowl Clincher

Call me crazy for not putting this at the top, because it did secure the Sugar Bowl victory, but the next play I’m still trying to comprehend. I’m not sure if I’m more shocked we beat Alabama or by what you’re about to see. Because it’s one of those things you can’t make up. But props to Geneo Grissom and the Sooner defense for preventing an Alabama game-winning drive. This play was truly special. Although, the team as a whole beat Alabama. Not just this play, which is why I give everyone credit and why the next play gets the top spot.

1. Touchdown Hunnicutt

Who could have dreamed this up? Certainly not Josh Heupel who week in and week out made some questionable play calls. However, he pulled this one out and it paid off big time. Michael Hunnicutt is already a fan favorite for his automatic leg, but this touchdown was undoubtedly a game changer and sucked a lot of life out of the Stillwater faithful. When we go back, everyone will remember OU beating Alabama in the Sugar Bowl. But they’ll also remember the time Michael Hunnicutt made his impact on Bedlam. There were too many great plays at the Sugar Bowl to put one as the favorite, and this one by Hunnicutt will certainly be a special reminder of the Sooner Magic that made itself known throughout the 2013-14 season.
