The Oklahoma Sooners suffered a tough loss to the Texas Longhorns to drop to 5-1 on the season, but in a weekend full of Top 20 defeats, the Sooners only fell to 18th in the nation in both the AP and Coaches college football rankings.

The 36-20 loss will be a hard one to overcome since it came in Big 12 play to a Texas team who has not lost a Big 12 game yet. It also hurts in the computer polls since Texas lost two non-conference games and is not ranked in either of the polls. However, the human voters kept OU in the Top 20 despite the loss.

There are four Big 12 teams in the college football rankings. Undefeated Baylor and Texas Tech are now the highest rated teams. The Bears are ranked 12th in both polls while the Red Raiders are ranked 15th in the Coaches and 16th in the AP. Oklahoma and Oklahoma State round out the Top 25, with the Cowboys ranked 17th in the Coaches and 21st in the AP.
