The Oklahoma Sooners won their fifth game of the season in a tough defensive battle with the TCU Horned Frogs, yet they dropped a spot in the AP Top 25 poll this week. The new poll hit today and OU fell to the 12th spot, while the UCLA Bruins moved ahead of them.

There are still three one-loss teams ranked ahead of the Oklahoma Sooners in the AP Top 25 poll, and not surprisingly, all three are from the SEC. The Georgia Bulldogs (7th) lost to 3rd ranked Clemson (ACC), LSU (10th) lost to Georgia and Texas A&M (9th) fell to 1st ranked Alabama.

LSU still has to play Alabama and Texas A&M, so there will be at least one of those team with two losses before the season comes to a close. Clemson also has a big battle coming up with a very strong Florida State, so there could be a shakeup if they lose that game as well.

The TCU Horned Frogs came into their game with the Oklahoma Sooners with a 2-2 record. However, looking at their losses, they fell to 10th ranked LSU and 20th ranked Texas Tech. After losing to the Sooners, they are 2-3, but all three losses are to Top 20 teams. Despite the quality losses, it seems the AP Top 25 poll has punished OU for struggling with a three-loss team.

So freakin what. The AP poll counts as much as my drunken friends deciding whose first in their poll.

Yep. The only one that really matters for the BCS is the Coaches poll, and OU is 10 there. Too much SEC bias anyway.
