Oklahoma landed its 15th commitment of the 2013 recruiting class. Today, Ogbonnia Okoronkwo a three-star prospect from Alief Taylor High School, verballed with the Sooners.
Okoronkwo previously was committed to the Oklahoma State Cowboys, but after his official visit to Norman for their November 9th contest against Baylor, he was strongly considering the Sooners.
Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops was on Alief Taylor’s campus Wednesday and closed the deal by securing Okoronkwo’s commitment to the Crimson and Cream.
Ogbonnia Okoronkwo may only be a three-star recruit, but he has the potential to be very good for Oklahoma. The 6’3” and 220 pound defensive end has great quickness and combines that with deceptive strength.
Okoronkwo is a much needed shot in the arm for Oklahoma’s recruiting class of 2013. While OU still needs defensive tackles badly, Okoronkwo rounds out a great defensive end class that includes Matt Dimon and DJ Ward.
