For the first time in 2012, Oklahoma’s home crowd will be treated to an earlier than usual kickoff Saturday. The Sooners are set to face the Baylor Bears at Oklahoma Memorial Stadium, and it won’t be a primetime kickoff like last season.
The Sooners and Bears will kickoff at 2:30 p.m. in the 21st meeting between the two schools and OU will have revenge on its mind.
Baylor lost the first 19 meetings against Oklahoma, but finally defeated the Sooners in Waco last season thanks to Robert Griffin III.
OU’s first ever loss to Baylor was a game that included what most remember as Griffin III’s Heisman moment when he drove down field with no time to pick up the win.
Oklahoma is nearly a three score favorite, but they will have to avoid getting outscored by Baylor. The Bears offense ranks sixth in the nation in scoring, and could challenge Landry Jones and the OU offense to make plays.
Though, the Baylor defense is ranked 117th in the nation in points allowed. So a shootout under a sunny Oklahoma sky is a possibility Saturday.
