Week Four Big 12 Power Ranking

by Power Ranking
No. Team Record Prev
1. West Virginia MountaineersBlowout win for WVU over James Madison. Geno Smith and Co. still look Big 12 title contenders, but face another out-of-conference foe before playing Baylor Sept. 29. 2-0 1
2. Oklahoma Sooners. Bye week for the Sooners. Though, a season-ending injury to Marshall Musil and Tony Jefferson limited in practice made for a less than easy-going bye week. 2-0 2
3. Kansas State Wildcats. The Cats struggled to an extent against North Texas, but count on Snyder to have K-State ready in time for a primetime match-up with Oklahoma. 3-0 3
4. Texas Longhorns. Mack Brown’s squad didn’t look overly impressive, but Ash led the Horns in a road win over Ole Miss. Take that “SEC” win for what it is worth. 3-0 4
5. Oklahoma State Cowboys. The Pokes bounced back, but it is definitely not time to be celebrating in Stillwater. 2-1 6
6. TCU Horned Frogs. In their first Big 12 game, the Frogs picked up a win over the Jayhawks. TCU had their struggles against Charlie Weis and Kansas. Reason for concern in Fort Worth? 2-0 (1-0) 5
7. Iowa State CyclonesAnother win for the ‘Clones. This team is straight up rolling through September. 3-0 8
8. Baylor Bears. Baylor had to rally against Sam Houston State, but stay undefeated. The Bears will need a better performance against Louisiana-Monroe, who upset Arkansas a week ago, and nearly knocked off Auburn in overtime. 2-0 7
9. Texas Tech Red RaidersIt’s week four, and all we know is the Red Raiders can blowout a bunch of cupcakes. 3-0 9
10. Kanas Jayhawks. A loss to TCU is one thing, but Kansas had opportunities to win this one. Weis could have this team heading in the right direction, or the Horned Frogs just aren’t that good. 1-2 (0-1) 10
